VIETNAM: A Journey Through the Lens
Travel, Documentary - Short Film (2026)

OUTLINE
Vietnam: A Journey Through the Lens follows photographers Alexander and Anna Baldreich on an 18-day journey across Vietnam — from the vibrant streets of Hanoi to the dramatic limestone landscapes of Ninh Binh and Ha Long Bay, onward to the lantern-lit alleys of Hoi An and the pulsating energy of Ho Chi Minh City.
What begins as a photographic expedition soon transforms into a deeper exploration of culture, human connection, and artistic intention. Cycling through rice fields, encountering water buffalo and local farmers, navigating chaotic city streets, and facing unexpected technical setbacks, the filmmakers confront both the beauty and unpredictability of travel. Each captured frame becomes the result of patience, adaptation, and emotional presence.
Blending powerful visual imagery with intimate video diaries, the documentary offers insight into the creative process behind each photograph. It is not only a portrait of Vietnam’s landscapes and people, but also a reflection on what it means to truly see — and to preserve a fleeting moment before it disappears.
